LET ME TELL YOU OUR STORY
From the beginning....
Dairyman's Daughter to Ranch HER
Riley’s story begins long before Boschma Farms. Raised on a dairy farm, she learned the value of hard work alongside her siblings and parents, caring for cattle and embracing agriculture as a way of life.
However, as the challenges facing family farms grew insurmountable, her family’s dairy farm was forced to close—a heartbreaking chapter that ultimately fueled Riley’s determination to forge a new path.
In 2016, she and Jimmy founded Boschma Farms, creating a cow-calf operation dedicated to providing bulk beef directly to consumers who value quality and transparency. Their vision was to offer an alternative to a system often dominated by corporate giants, prioritizing integrity and sustainability over shortcuts.
Tragically, in May 2024, Jimmy passed away, leaving Riley to raise their five children—ages 9 to 1—and continue her dream alone. Despite the heartbreak, Riley’s faith in God and her determination to carry on her vision have remained steadfast. With her children by her side, she has embraced the challenges of running Boschma Farms, teaching them the value of hard work and the importance of preserving America’s family farms. Together, they are not only running a business but also cultivating a legacy—one that honors Jimmy’s memory and reflects their enduring love for the cattle industry and the land.
At Boschma Farms, Cultivating a Legacy is more than a guiding principle—it is a way of life, rooted in faith, family, and a deep love for the land. For Riley Boschma and her five children, this legacy carries the spirit of five generations of farmers, built on resilience, hard work, and unwavering trust in God. Together, they honor the memory of Jimmy—who shared her dream of building something meaningful and enduring.
Inspired by the promises of 2 Timothy 2:11-13, their daily work reflects a commitment to nurturing life, promoting wellness, and preserving a tradition that sustains both the land and the community.

From running Boschma Farms and JBT, to homeschooling, being a health advocate and adviser, a friend to all, and a mom—life is full, messy, and rewarding. She does it all for the glory of God, that His goodness will be seen through our story of cultivating a legacy through a labor of love.
This hat was made to honor Jimmy's life and legacy, and all we started together. It’s a reminder of the hard work, love, and vision we shared—carrying forward everything we built with his memory in every step.

We choose to farm every day because it's who we were made to be. We do it for you—our community, our customers, and our neighbors—and we do it for ourselves, because it’s an honor to serve our county and provide you with the highest quality, farm-fresh beef. Every cut and every decision is rooted in our commitment to faith, family, and the land. Farming isn’t just what we do; it’s who we are, and we’re grateful to share our purpose with you.
This work is also deeply healing for us, continuing a legacy that honors the cattle who were a source of comfort during some of my darkest days. The pasture is where I found peace and comfort, and now, I want to share that peace and healing with you, through every step of our farming journey.
